At Forever Grateful, every dollar we receive is used with care and intention. We’re a small, heart-led team with a big mission: to spark life-saving conversations about organ donation through storytelling, education, and advocacy. From school talks and short films to survivor support and medical research, your generosity helps us reach more people, in more places, with stories that matter.

Forever Grateful is a registered Australian charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. This means all donations over $2 are tax-deductible. You can view our official listing on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) website here. It is covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

 

Below, we’ve outlined exactly how your support is helping us make a difference.

 

Funding Allocation

 

At Forever Grateful, funds are carefully directed across three core impact areas - video production, operational costs, and merchandise development - while also supporting additional, high-impact initiatives in partnership with St Vincent’s Hospital.

 

1. Video Production (Approx. 50%)

We produce short, emotionally resonant films and educational content that raise awareness about heart health and organ donation. These are used in schools, on social media, and in national campaigns. Funding supports:

• Story development and production

• Filming, editing, and post-production

• Distribution and classroom integration

 

2. Operational Costs (Approx. 30%)

These funds keep Forever Grateful running, allowing us to deliver talks, maintain outreach, and grow our impact responsibly. This includes:

• Travel and logistics for talks

• Insurance, admin, compliance

• Website, digital tools, and communications

 

3. Survivor Shirts Production (Approx. 20%)

While not part of our core storytelling mission, Survivor Shirts is our fundraising arm. Funds support:

• Merch design, printing, production ,and inventory

• Order fulfilment and postage

• Online shop management

• 100% of profits go directly to cardiac and transplant research via the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

 

Additional Initiatives (Flexible Allocation)

 

We also pursue targeted, patient-focused projects with direct impact. Examples include:

 

Emergency Comfort Packs – $3,500

Essential care kits for transplant patients unexpectedly admitted to hospital. Created in collaboration with St Vincent’s Hospital to offer dignity, relief, and emotional support, particularly for patients from out of Sydney.

 

Phone Charging Stations – $3,500

Charging lockers and wall-mounted stations in two Heart & Lung Clinic waiting rooms at St Vincent’s to help patients and families stay connected during long and stressful appointments.

 

These initiatives are donor-friendly, tangible, and deeply human - giving supporters the option to fund something meaningful beyond our day-to-day operations.
