Community Support - Hornsby Shire
Last week we had the pleasure of joining the Hornsby Shire Council community to celebrate something that means a great deal to us. Recently, Hornsby became the first community to support Forever Grateful's schools program through the ClubGRANTS Scheme and the generous support of Hornsby RSL Club .
Their support will help us take our Conversation Starter program into five local high schools, creating opportunities for young people to explore organ donation, ask questions, think about their own wishes, and take the conversation home to their families.
We want those conversations to feel open, curious, and comfortable. A chance to listen to each other, share what we think, and understand the wishes of the people closest to us.
Sometimes the most important part is simply finding a way to begin. Over the coming year, we'll also be listening carefully to the students and schools involved. What questions come up? What helps young people engage? What do they take home with them? And what helps that conversation continue around the family kitchen table?
There is a lot we hope to learn. Having a community willing to support that process at this early stage means an enormous amount to Forever Grateful, and we're incredibly thankful to everyone at Hornsby RSL who has helped make it possible.
We can't wait to get into the schools and begin.
